Could You Be? and You Are So Beautiful: Songs Lyrics

180410120069/A

Summary: Songs about a story of a girl and a boy who fall in love each other at the first sight, but they do not dare to show their feelings to each other since they think the one whom they love does not love them too.

Could You Be?

Verse I:

It is Friday morning
And the sun shines brightly
Right above me
Suddenly I see you
I feel the warmth inside of me
I don’t know what is in my mind
What is in my heart too
The one that I know
My heart beats fast but slowly says

Chorus:

Could you be the one to be my first?
Be the one who takes me to the sky
Makes me smile with no reason
In every single day

Could you be the one who feels the same?
Be the one who says I’m so in love
The fountain of my tears and my laugh
For all my life

Verse II:

Standing right in front of my class
I find you are in my class too
You are so marvelous
You look at me, I become so odd
I don’t know what is in my mind
What is in my heart too
The one that I know
My heart beats fast but slowly says

Chorus:

Could you be the one to be my first?
Be the one who takes me to the sky
Makes me smile with no reason
In every single day

Could you be the one who feels the same?
Be the one who says I’m so in love
The fountain of my tears and my laugh
For all my life

Bridge:

Could you be?
Oh… Could you be?
Could you be?
I’m so glad if you’re mine
‘Cause I know when it becomes true
Every day of my life will be wonderful
It’s because of you

Chorus:

Could he be the one to be my first?
Be the one who takes me to the sky
Makes me smile with no reason
In every single day

Could he be the one who feels the same?
Be the one who says I’m so in love
The fountain of my tears and my laugh
The fountain of my tears and my laugh
Oh… fountain of my tears and my laugh
For all my life

I love your songs! Both of these songs are really touching for me. Your dramatizations make me sense how the singers feel in the song lyrics you had written. Even though the theme you had brought was not new things, I thought your songs were special because of the emotion you had showed in your dramatization. And I thought, your lyrics had really inspired from your daily life because the lyrics were so real like in our daily life. In your lyrics, I was interested with your songs because you picked easy words, so it was not too hard to understand. It was easy to readers for humming the songs, especially for the second song. • Thank you very much, Hanny for giving me your opinion. I’m glad to hear that you love these songs even though it is poorly recorded. Thank you.

Actually, the idea of the story came from my friend, so these songs are not about my daily life just like you think. :)

There is a significant difference between the first and the second song in lyrics. The first one has more of a beautiful and romantic description of the feeling the girl has on her crush; meanwhile, in the second song, there are only short and straight to the point verses. Although both of them show the same message of love, but the difference in style in the lyrics make the song unique and I see it suits the perspective of the story. Generally men like it short and simple, right? I notice the change in pronoun ‘you’ to ‘he’ in the first song. It makes an impression that at first she was talking to the men, and in the end she was talking to other people, or herself, about the men. I don’t know the reason the narrator do that but overall, I got butterflies in my stomach listening to the songs. (word count: 150)

    • Yes Vidi, you are right about the different style in writing these songs’ lyrics. I indeed deliberately did it because I wanted to show different characterization, point of view, and perspective of a girl and a boy. When a girl likes a boy, she concerns more to the boy’s personality, meanwhile when a boy likes a girl, he concerns more to the girl’s physical appearance.

Actually, in the first song, I want to show that the girl is talking to herself. It is about her who does not dare to show her feeling to the boy, so she just hides what she wants to say to the boy in her heart.

Oh God, you are so lucky to have a beautiful voice! I love the way you sing, it is so lovely and the song is really easy listening. In the first song, the lyric is so easy-to-remember. The story behind the song is simple and dense, but it makes the song livelier. Because of you are refer to the one of Raisa’s songs, I thought the girl who is singing “Could You Be?” is Raisa, but it is obviously you haha. By the way, you are so creative by using The Beatles song as the music for the second song. The man sings really enjoyed and makes the listener want to sing along. Lidya, your work is so adorable! • Alhamdulillah, thank you Dora. :))
I’m grateful if it is so, that I have a good voice. I hope so. :’)

You are not really wrong when you thought that the person who sings the first song is Raisa because I am her sister, so yaa our voice is quite same. :p (Haha I’m just kidding anyway, don’t take it seriously)

I do not know about music, but all I know is you have a beautiful voice! The melody of the first song is simple but you make it marvelous. Both of the songs have college as its settings and I instantly get the feeling. And I wonder, does one song reply another? Because I see that the first song is about a girl admires a boy in her class, on the other hand, the second song is about a boy admires a beautiful girl in his class. It is the same situation and it relates each other too, right? Oh, if it is right, it will be bad for the girl always spends her times wondering about the boy who actually admires her too!

    • Thank you, Nurein. I hope so (that my voice is good). Aamiin.

Yes, one song does reply another. The girl in the first song and the boy in the second song actually loves each other, but they do not know it.

I think that’s what life is. Life is unpredictable. Sometimes, we see something as an impossible thing to happen, but actually it already happens. Life sometimes hurts, so does love.
