Character Description: The Boy Who Asks the Bird

Siti Afrinda Syelsega/180410150045

El asks the bird how you feel when you’re flying to the sky. He asks the bird how you feel when you’re touching the clouds. He asks the bird how not to feel afraid when you’re playing in the sky. He explains to the bird that he is not afraid to fly, but he is afraid that he can’t leave the sky when he gets there. However, his desire is bigger than his fear. He begs the bird to teach him how to fly. He needs to find what is inside the sky. He believes that there is a joyful place where birds can play. There is, perhaps, a cozy place where the moon and stars can sleep while they are hiding from the sun in the morning. He still believes there is a peaceful place in the sky where his brother stays now. By going to the sky, he can see the brother who used to tell him wonderful stories. He can meet the brother who used to promise him that they will fly an airplane in the sky together. Once again, he asks the bird, “How can you leave the sky? I really want to teach my brother, so he can come back home.”
